We watch, Wait , Hope and Pray…

No travel posts from me this weekend as here in Thailand we watch wait and pray for the safe extraction of the trapped school boys and their teacher…

Starting out on a sunny afternoon 12 excited schoolboys and their teacher entered the Tham Luang Nang Non-caves in Northern Thailand then a serious of unfortunate events escalated into tragedy.

A link here shows the scale of this rescue.

Trapped for 10 days before being found by British Divers the boys and their teacher were alive… Happy to see their smiles …

Since then we have realised that finding them was the easy part…

Tragically an ex Thai Navy Seal lost his life… For experienced cave divers, it takes 6 hours through muddy water and against strong currents with zero visibility to reach the boys location… For boys in a weakened condition who can’t swim, I hope an alternative can be found and quickly.

It has been a massive task with help and equipment coming from all over the world and now we watch, wait, and pray…

The boys cannot swim, are weak and some suffer from exhaustion …The youngest is 11 years old and their parents wait eagerly for news, they want to see and hold their boys, give them a cuddle…It must be heartbreaking for them…

The mountain above them is covered by thick jungle many volunteers from around the world and Thai military services are doing inch by inch searches to try and find a chimney a way to safely drill down to extract the boys…

The monsoon rains are threatening to fall at any time…

The air is running out…

The pumps are working to lower the flooded caves if the rains start it will have been in vain…

This video shows the difficulties they face…

The news today seems to indicate extraction is imminent…

We watch, wait and pray… Please pray with me for the safe return of the boys and their teacher and the safety of the rescuers.
